Pineapple Ginger Juice: Healthy homemade - 2 glasses of extreme goodness

Ghanaians make this juice all the time,  it is a pineapple juice spiked with some ginger and lime. And while on the surface it is a deliciously sweet fresh juice, it is packed with a major boost of good for you nutrients that will rival any multivitamin supplement any day. Vitamin A, C, beta carotene, bromelain, and a bunch of other power packed vitamins and minerals help give this juice its immune system boosting power that it has that does not only prep your health, but also helps glow up your skin hair and nails.Hello my people. It was 80 degrees Fahrenheit (about 26 degrees Celsius) the other day, and my local farmer’s market just re-opened for the new season; all the signs of the seasons changing, and summer approaching. I am not quick to take of my jacket however. I still need protection from the cold spring early mornings and nights. Sometimes, it doesn’t even feel warm the whole day. So while I sometimes force the weather to agree with my feelings by wearing my summer dresses, I have found that I still need internal protection from the ever changing weather. My protection of choice is this immune boosting elevated pineapple ginger juice.

Pineapple Ginger Juice: Healthy homemade - a tray with pineapple, lime and ginger

How to Make Pineapple Ginger Juice

Ingredients

  • About 2 lbs (0.9 kg) of pineapple peeled and cut (make sure to add the pineapple core as well)
  • 50 grams of ginger; about a small thumb in size
  • 1 lime
  • 1 cup of water

Recipe

This pineapple ginger recipe is so simple, it takes only 5 minutes to prepare!

  • In a blender, simply blend the pineapple and ginger with the water until all the ingredients are pureed.
  • If you have a smaller blender, you can simply split the split the blended ingredients into two batches. Since the juice is going to be mixed together anyway, it does not matter if you split them evenly.
  • Strain the juice into a clean container with a fine mesh strainer, cheese cloth or better yet, a nut milk bag.
  • Into the strained juice, squeeze the lime juice, making sure to catch the seeds and stir.
  • Serve the juice chilled.

i generally do not sweeten it more than it is, but you can always add a dash of sugar to your taste.

This sounds delicious! I am not completely sure my blender is up to the task, but I’ve been thinking of investing in a new, stronger one anyway – this is just added motivation to do so!

I had to check to see where in the world you lived. I’m reading this post in January in North America, and it isn’t warm. I’m trying to catch a cold, so I was looking for something to eat or drink to help boost my immune system. This is perfect. I also want to thank you for saying to keep the pineapple core. I have friends who are adamant that it should be thrown out. I just bought a pineapple yesterday, so I’m off to the kitchen to make this.

I live in Baltimore Maryland at the moment, so it is currently freezing. I still have this juice once in a while because I find it to be quite the immunity booster. The core of the pineapple has quite amazing health benefits, so I always keep it in my juices.

Do you need to peel the ginger, or just throw it in there and then it will strain out? Love this juice. Thank you!

Hey Lyn! If you wash your ginger really well, and it is organic, I would go ahead and just throw it in there. You are very welcome!
